A Neighbor First,
A Councilmember Second

Ryan has lived in Fridley for over a decade with his wife Jessica and their three children — Annabel, Bennett, and Lilah. After serving more than three years on the Fridley Planning Commission, he was elected to the City Council in 2022.

Outside of his council duties, Ryan works in the banking industry, partners with local business owners, volunteers with his church, serves on the finance committee at his kids' school, and coaches their sports teams. The Evanson family also participates in the Adopt a Park program, caring for and maintaining Fridley's parks.

What Ryan Is Fighting For

A proven record of fiscal discipline, community investment, and public safety. Here's what a second term will focus on.

💰

Fiscal Responsibility

Ryan has championed responsible budgeting — ensuring tax dollars fund only the most critical services: public safety, public works, and parks. Despite state budget cuts in 2025, Fridley's levy increase was among the lowest in Anoka County. He'll continue growing our commercial sector to reduce the tax burden on homeowners.

🏢

Strong Communities

Keeping Fridley a place where neighbors know each other. Ryan has supported robust parks programs, grants for home improvements, new local businesses, and space for polite civic discourse where residents speak about what matters most. He'll keep advocating for homeowners and businesses alike.

🛒

Public Safety

Ryan has been a consistent voice for keeping Fridley's public safety department fully staffed with trained professionals. He supported adding an embedded social worker to address mental health needs — ensuring our officers and neighbors both get the support they need.

🚗

Safe Roads

Residents regularly ask for ways to reduce the speeds of vehicles on local roads and Ryan has delivered results in neighborhoods across the city, including the use of traffic circles, speed humps, and increased speed limit enforcement to keep traffic speeds down and neighborhoods safe.

💧

Clean Water

Ryan has supported infrastructure projects to remove chemicals such as PFAS from city drinking water, funded by state grants, to provide safe water to residents at low cost to our taxpayers.
